 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  Two Nursing Mothers, Eight Other Inmates Freed in Ogun


Two nursing mothers and eight other inmates of the Nigerian Correctional Center in Ibara, Abeokuta, Ogun State, regained their freedom on Wednesday after being unable to meet their bail conditions.


The released individuals, comprising three women and seven men, had been held for various offenses. Among them were two women carrying their babies on their backs.

Reports has it that the Olu of Itori, Oba Abul-Fatai Akamo, secured their release by paying their fines in celebration of his 21st year on the throne. He also provided them with transportation fare to return home and donated other essential items to the correctional facility.


Accompanied by the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba Saka Matemilola, the monarch encouraged the inmates to remain hopeful and assured them of a brighter future.


Oba Akamo also donated N2 million to the correctional center and expressed gratitude to the State Controller, Adesina Abioye, and other correctional officers for their dedication to managing the facility.


“Do not lose hope; a better tomorrow awaits you. Always pray for Governor Dapo Abiodun, a leader with a kind heart who will continue to support you,” the monarch said, promising to relay their concerns to the governor.


In response, Controller A.K. Abioye, speaking on behalf of the Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS), appreciated Oba Akamo’s generosity and urged other philanthropists to follow his example.


“I sincerely thank Kabiyesi for fulfilling his promise. When he visited earlier, he assured us that he would celebrate his 21st anniversary by securing the release of some inmates and donating essential items, and today he has done just that.


“We need more individuals like him to support our efforts and improve conditions at the facility,” he added.


Controller Abioye also advised the freed inmates to uphold good behavior, reflect on their past, and apply the lessons learned during their time in custody.
