 STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE   ENGINEERS FAROUK AHMED, GBENGA KOMOLAFE RESIGN, PRESIDENT TINUBU NOMINATES SUCCESSORS TO THE SENATE FOR APPROVAL President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has asked the Senate to approve the nominations of two new chief executives for the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).   The requests followed the resignation of Engineer Farouk Ahmed of the NMDPRA and Gbenga Komolafe of the NUPRC. Both officials were appointed in 2021 by former President Buhari to lead the two regulatory agencies created by the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA).   To fill these positions, President Tinubu has written to the Senate, requesting expedited confirmation of Oritsemeyiwa Amanorisewo Eyesan as CEO of NUPRC and Engineer Saidu Aliyu Mohammed as CEO of NMDPRA.   The two nominees are seasoned professionals in the oil and gas industry.   Eyesan, a graduate of Economics f...

BOXING LEGEND "GEORGE FOREMAN " PASSED AWAY AT THE AGE OF 76.(PHOTO).#RIP


  Boxing heavyweight legend George Foreman has died aged 76 as a devout preacher


 Foreman was born in Marshall, Texas, on 10 January 1949, and raised along with six siblings by a single mother 


 Foreman won the heavyweight gold medal at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City, aged 19, before turning pro and winning 37 consecutive matches.


His legendary rivalry with Muhammad Ali culminated in the famous ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ title bout in October 1974 in Zaire now Congo Kinshasa.

 

He fought in two of the most iconic boxing events of all time, taking on Joe Frazier in 'The Fight of the Century' in 1971 and then Muhammad Ali in 'The Rumble in the Jungle' in 1974.


 ‘Big George’ reigned as world champion twice during a storied career at the top – once as America’s most feared young fighter and then again as the oldest champion in history 21 years apart.


 The hard-hitting heavyweight was outclassed by Muhammad Ali in 1974, losing his first world title and retiring from the sport three years later. In need of money after almost becoming homeless, he returned to the sport a decade later and would soon mount another title charge, making history in 1994 when he beat Michael Moorer.


 George Foreman Grill, was a market hit in 1994 "Lean Mean Grilling Machine".


 Foreman has/had a dozen children. Five of his sons are named George.
