 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Driver, Apprentice Killed as Petrol Tanker Explodes in Ibadan


A petrol tanker explosion in Ibadan, Oyo State, has claimed the lives of a driver and his apprentice.


The incident occurred early Tuesday morning near Total Filling Station, Orita Challenge, when the tanker, carrying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), lost control due to brake failure while navigating a roundabout. The vehicle struck a concrete barrier, overturned, and caught fire.


Confirming the incident, Oyo State Fire Service General Manager, Yemi Akinyinka, stated that the fire was reported at 5:01 a.m. Firefighters, led by ACFS Olubunmi Christy, swiftly responded and used foam chemical compounds to contain the blaze.


The charred remains of the driver and his assistant were recovered and handed over to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) for transport to the hospital. Firefighters from Sumal Food Limited also assisted in extinguishing the flames, and personnel remain on-site for cooling operations to prevent reignition.
