 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. Ex Abacha aide, Hamza Al-Mustapha officially defects to SDP


Major Dr. Hamza Al-Mustapha has officially joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP), marking a new phase in his political journey aimed at national development.


Accompanied by his team, Al-Mustapha arrived at the SDP headquarters in Abuja, where he was warmly received by party leaders and supporters.


He said his move to the party signals his commitment to leadership based on justice, security, and progress.


His defection comes days after former Kaduna governor, Nasir El-Rufa’i moved to the SDP.


El-Rufa’i has said that they would move against the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration during the 2027 polls.


Hamza Al-Mustapha was the Chief Security Officer to former military ruler General Sani Abacha during his administration from 1993 to 1998.


He was known as one of Abacha’s closest associates during the military regime.
