 TROOPS OF OPERATION WHIRL STROKE ARREST HIGH PROFILE CRIMINAL IN BENUE COMMUNITY Troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE arrested a high-profile suspected criminal during an intelligence-driven operation in Agasha Village of Guma Local Government Area, Benue State, following a report of an attack on a local resident. The operation was launched on 13 March 2026 after security agencies received credible information regarding an attack on Mr Shaapera Seeta Michael in Agasha Village. Acting swiftly on the report, troops of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Intervention Battalion XI deployed under Operation WHIRL STROKE mobilised immediately to the affected area to track down the suspect responsible for the assault. Upon arrival, the troops cordoned the area to prevent the suspect from escaping while conducting a targeted search operation aimed at identifying and apprehending the alleged attacker.  Kano Assembly Summons LGA Chairman Over Rano Market Demolition


The Kano State House of Assembly has summoned the Chairman of Rano Local Government Area to explain the recent demolition of structures at Rano Market, a move that has stirred controversy among traders and residents.


During Monday’s plenary session, Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad Rano, the lawmaker representing Rano LGA, raised an urgent motion calling for intervention to support affected traders. He lamented that the demolitions were conducted without prior notice, leaving hundreds of traders in distress and threatening the area's economic stability.


In response, the Assembly approved the motion and directed the local government chairman to appear before lawmakers to justify the action, particularly in light of the hardships it has caused.


Meanwhile, some affected traders have appealed to the state government for intervention, urging an immediate halt to further demolitions and assistance for those impacted.


The Assembly reassured the public that it would continue to monitor the situation to ensure justice and safeguard the rights of the affected community.
