 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  Kidnapped NYSC ex-DG, Tsiga regains freedom from bandits


A former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Major General Mahrazu Tsiga, (rtd), has finally regained his freedom.

Tsiga regained his freedom from his kidnappers on Friday after spending 22 days in captivity.

Channels Television reported on Friday night that Tsiga is receiving medical attention at an undisclosed hospital for security reasons.

Recall that gunmen led by notorious bandit kingpin, Babaro had taken the firmer NYSC DG, demanding N250m for his release.

However, the report said it was unclear if any money was paid for his freedom.

Government officials and security agencies, including the Katsina State Police Command were yet to comment on Tsiga’s freedom.

He was kidnapped by the bandits who stormed his residence in Tsifa Village, Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State on February 6, 2025.

During the attack, two persons sustained various degrees of injuries. One of the gunmen was mistakenly shot dead by a member of his gang.
