Operatives of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC) Ikosi-Isheri Command have arrested one Ademola Oyekan "42" (M) for alleged impersonation and assault.

Upon receipt of a tip-off from a member of the community, the Agency launched an intelligence operation to verify the information, and upon satisfaction, a crack team stormed an apartment in Magodo Phase II, where the suspect was arrested while assaulting one Deborah Nifemi Fafore.

The victim, Fafore, accused the suspect of being a serial abuser who specialises in defrauding women through fake identities.

The accused was apprehended with a badly worded Identification Card bearing the address of a Lagos Palace, suggesting he is a member of the Oyekan Royal Family.

However, preliminary investigations and an enquiry with the Oyekans indicated that the suspect is not a member of the renowned Oba Oyekan family.

The suspect also confessed that he is not a member of the Oyekan family and gave his real name as "Muri", before being handed over to the officers at Isheri Police Station for further investigation and possibly prosecution.

In an official statement, the management of LNSC admonished the general public to be vigilant in their transactions, while it also warned criminals to relocate from the State as the Agency is poised to ensure crime and criminality do not fester in Lagos.
