 ANAMBRA POLICE ARRESTS TWO SUSPECTED PRODUCERS OF ADULTERATED ALCOHOLIC DRINKS, RECOVERS COUNTERFEIT PRODUCTS AND CHEMICALS Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command attached to the Rapid Response Squad/VCRU have arrested two suspects allegedly involved in the production and distribution of adulterated alcoholic beverages in the State. The suspects, identified as Ikechukwu Okeke 42 years old and Okeke Chukwuemeka 38 years old were arrested in the early hours of today 15th June 2026,  following credible intelligence received by the Police. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects are members of a syndicate specializing in the adulteration and counterfeiting of various alcoholic beverages. During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to the crime and subsequently led operatives to their mini-factory.  Villagers Catch Livestock Thieves in Eastern Cape


Residents of a rural village in the Eastern Cape have caught three suspected livestock thieves. The community acted swiftly after noticing suspicious activity, leading to the capture of the trio.


Livestock theft remains a major problem in the region, as criminals often target small-scale black farmers, sometimes resorting to violence, including fatal shootings. Many villagers rely on their cattle, goats, and sheep for their livelihoods, making these crimes devastating.


It is not yet clear what the villagers did with the suspects, but the hope is that they handed them over to the authorities rather than resorting to mob justice. Police are expected to investigate the matter further.
