 IGP DISU PAYS OPERATIONAL VISIT TO  AKWA IBOM, PRESIDES OVER PASSING-OUT CEREMONY OF 1,068 RETRAINED CONSTABLES The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, today, 30th April 2026, undertook an official visit to Akwa Ibom State, where he paid a courtesy call on the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, ahead of the passing-out ceremony of retrained Police Constables in Uyo. TWO ZIMBOS ARRESTED WITH DAGFA WORTH OVER R79, 000 BEITBRIDGE. (PHOTOS).


 Two Zimbos Arrested with Dagga Worth Over R79,000 Near Beitbridge


In a major drug bust, Limpopo police arrested two Zimbabwean nationals and seized dagga worth over R79,000 during an early morning operation on Friday, 7 March 2025. The arrests took place along the N1 road near MOJ Petroleum, close to the Beitbridge Port of Entry.


At around 03:20, officers stopped and searched two sedans traveling in the area. In the first vehicle, a white sedan with Gauteng registration, they found 11 bags of dagga weighing 157.8 kg, valued at R66,276. The 45-year-old driver was immediately taken into custody.


The second vehicle, a grey Ford Focus with Limpopo registration, was driven by a 47-year-old suspect. A search uncovered 14 bags of dagga and four suitcases filled with the drug, totaling 187.8 kg and valued at R794,394.


Both suspects were arrested and charged with dealing in and possession of dagga. Their vehicles were confiscated for further investigation. They are set to appear before the Musina Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 10 March 2025.
