 BENUE BOOSTS CHILD PROTECTION WITH GRADUATION OF 60 UNICEF-BACKED SOCIAL WORKERS  Benue State has taken a major step toward strengthening child protection and social welfare services with the graduation of 60 Auxiliary Social Workers (ASWs) trained to serve vulnerable children and families at the grassroots. The graduation ceremony, held on Wednesday, marked the successful completion of a programme jointly supported by the Benue State Government, the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), the Bureau of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and the Benue State Bureau for International Cooperation and Development (BICD).  Anambra Assembly Confirms Muogbo As Accountant General Of Local Governments

The Anambra State House of Assembly has confirmed Mrs. Nneoma Muogbo as the Accountant General of Local Governments in the state.


The confirmation followed a letter sent to the House by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, nominating Mrs. Muogbo for the position.


Presenting the report of the House Committee on Screening, the Chairman of the Committee and Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Okoye, said that the committee conducted a thorough screening of the nominee and found her worthy and qualified for the office.


The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, charged the new Accountant General to bring her wealth of experience to bear and discharge her duties diligently in line with stipulated laws to advance the local government system.


In her vote of thanks, Mrs. Muogbo expressed gratitude to the House for the confirmation and assured that she would bring positive change to the local government administration.
