 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Anambra Assembly Confirms Muogbo As Accountant General Of Local Governments

The Anambra State House of Assembly has confirmed Mrs. Nneoma Muogbo as the Accountant General of Local Governments in the state.


The confirmation followed a letter sent to the House by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, nominating Mrs. Muogbo for the position.


Presenting the report of the House Committee on Screening, the Chairman of the Committee and Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Okoye, said that the committee conducted a thorough screening of the nominee and found her worthy and qualified for the office.


The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, charged the new Accountant General to bring her wealth of experience to bear and discharge her duties diligently in line with stipulated laws to advance the local government system.


In her vote of thanks, Mrs. Muogbo expressed gratitude to the House for the confirmation and assured that she would bring positive change to the local government administration.
