 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  Anambra Woman Killed by Stray Bullet; Vigilante Shooter Arrested


A woman was fatally struck by a stray bullet on Tuesday night at Ibeto Junction in Nnewi, Anambra State. The incident occurred when a member of the local vigilante group, Operation Udo Ga Chi, allegedly fired shots while attempting to navigate a traffic jam.


Eyewitnesses reported that the vigilante operative began shooting indiscriminately instead of assisting with traffic control. The woman was hit during the gunfire, rushed to a nearby hospital, and later pronounced dead.


In response, the Anambra State government has identified and arrested the shooter, pledging to ensure justice is served.
