  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.  Court Dismisses Labour Party’s Suit Against Amaewhule, 26 Rivers Lawmakers


A Federal High Court in Port Harcourt has thrown out a lawsuit filed by the Labour Party in Rivers State challenging the alleged defection of Martin Amaewhule, the suspended Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, and 26 other lawmakers.


In his ruling on Tuesday, Justice Emmanuel Obile stated that the court lacked jurisdiction to hear the case, citing a recent Supreme Court decision that had already resolved the defection issue. He dismissed the suit, noting that the apex court’s judgment was binding.


Ken Njemanze, Senior Advocate of Nigeria and counsel to the defendants, had urged the court to dismiss the suit, arguing that the Supreme Court’s ruling upheld the lawmakers’ legitimacy. Conversely, Labour Party’s counsel, Clifford Chuku, contended that the defection was a secondary issue in the Supreme Court case and pressed for the suit to proceed.
