  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.  Ekiti Court Sentences Two to Death for Kidnapping, Armed Robbery


An Ekiti State High Court sitting in Ado Ekiti has sentenced two men, Onileowo Rotimi and Adetola Ayodele, both 42, to death by hanging for armed robbery and kidnapping. The duo was also handed life imprisonment for conspiracy.


The court found them guilty of robbing Mrs. Ajibola Oyelola on October 7, 2016, at Abuta, Omuo Ekiti, and kidnapping her the same day. The offences violated sections of the Ekiti State Criminal Code and Kidnapping and Terrorism (Prohibition) Laws.


Testifying, the victim said she was abducted from her home by five armed men, blindfolded, and held captive in the forest for eight days. Her husband eventually paid a ransom of ₦600,000 for her release.


Prosecutor Akinola Abon presented four witnesses and the defendants’ statements. The convicts, who admitted to meeting in prison before committing the crimes, presented no defense.


Justice Bamidele Omotoso ruled that the prosecution had proved its case, sentencing them to life for kidnapping and death by hanging for armed robbery.
