 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  ELEVEN SUSPECTS ARRESTED DURING OPERATION VALA UMGODI IN LIMPOPO


Eleven (11) suspects aged between 20 and 54 were arrested during the ongoing Operation Vala Umgodi in Limpopo on Friday, 25 April 2025. The arrests took place across the Sekhukhune, Mopani, and Vhembe districts.


In Sekhukhune, four (4) suspects were caught in the Hlogotlou policing area for illegal sand mining. Members of Operation Vala Umgodi spotted the suspects loading sand into trucks at Luckau Village. Upon investigation, it was found that they had no permits to mine in the area. They were immediately arrested, and police confiscated two white Mercedes Benz trucks, a white Toyota Dyna truck, four pickaxes, eleven shovels, and five spades.


Meanwhile, in Mopani and Vhembe districts, seven (7) suspects aged between 20 and 47 were arrested for being illegal immigrants. These arrests were made in the Letsitele and Musina policing areas.


All suspects are expected to appear in their respective local Magistrate’s Courts soon.
