 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  FCTA Destroys 601 Impounded Motorcycles Over Security, Traffic Violations


The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has crushed 601 motorcycles seized for operating in restricted areas within Abuja.


FCTA’s Mandate Secretary for Transportation, Elechi Chinedum, said the action was in line with the 2023 regulations banning commercial motorcycles in certain zones for security and traffic control.


DRTS Director Abdulateef Bello added that the move aims to deter traffic violations and curb the growing use of motorcycles in criminal activities across the capital.

  1. Further creating poverty. What does it cost them, to return the cycle to the respective owner, and ask out of the restricted areas. If possible send them to another neighboring town to operate. Imagine 601 x 1. 5 million naira, it is a huge lot of money being mechanically destroyed. We are very stupid in this country. Yet, they will say they're empowering youth... with destruction of property that can generate revenue to families. If, it's coke they won't destroy it. God help you o!
