FCTA Destroys 601 Impounded Motorcycles Over Security, Traffic Violations

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has crushed 601 motorcycles seized for operating in restricted areas within Abuja.

FCTA’s Mandate Secretary for Transportation, Elechi Chinedum, said the action was in line with the 2023 regulations banning commercial motorcycles in certain zones for security and traffic control.

DRTS Director Abdulateef Bello added that the move aims to deter traffic violations and curb the growing use of motorcycles in criminal activities across the capital.

  1. Further creating poverty. What does it cost them, to return the cycle to the respective owner, and ask out of the restricted areas. If possible send them to another neighboring town to operate. Imagine 601 x 1. 5 million naira, it is a huge lot of money being mechanically destroyed. We are very stupid in this country. Yet, they will say they're empowering youth... with destruction of property that can generate revenue to families. If, it's coke they won't destroy it. God help you o!
