Filipino Screen Legend Nora Aunor Dies at 71
Veteran Filipino actress and national icon, Nora Aunor, has died at the age of 71.
Her daughter, Lotlot de Leon, confirmed the news in an Instagram post on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, without revealing the cause of death.
“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, celebrated television and movie actress, and a true National Artist of the Philippines,” the statement read.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
Nora Aunor rose to fame in the 1960s as a singer before becoming one of the Philippines’ most revered actresses. She was named National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts in 2022, the country’s highest recognition for performers.
