 TROOPS OF OPERATION WHIRL STROKE ARREST HIGH PROFILE CRIMINAL IN BENUE COMMUNITY Troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE arrested a high-profile suspected criminal during an intelligence-driven operation in Agasha Village of Guma Local Government Area, Benue State, following a report of an attack on a local resident. The operation was launched on 13 March 2026 after security agencies received credible information regarding an attack on Mr Shaapera Seeta Michael in Agasha Village. Acting swiftly on the report, troops of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Intervention Battalion XI deployed under Operation WHIRL STROKE mobilised immediately to the affected area to track down the suspect responsible for the assault. Upon arrival, the troops cordoned the area to prevent the suspect from escaping while conducting a targeted search operation aimed at identifying and apprehending the alleged attacker.  First Female Army Spokesperson Assumes Office, Vows Transparency and Proactiveness


Lt. Col. Onyechi Anele on Tuesday became the first female officer to serve as the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, succeeding Major General Onyema Nwachukwu at a handover ceremony in Abuja.


Anele pledged to lead with transparency, professionalism, and proactiveness, promising continued collaboration with the media and commitment to telling the Army’s story through impactful actions.


Nwachukwu, who served for nearly four years, highlighted key achievements including the launch of Nigerian Army Info TV and a Strategic Communications Centre. Anele praised his leadership and urged her team to remain united and focused in advancing military public relations.
