The Hall County Sheriff's Office has announced additional charges in a disturbing case that they began investigating last year. The sheriff's office initially began an investigation last year after being contacted by Habersham County Sheriff's Office. They reached out about 24-year-old Brooke Bestpitch forcing her child to smoke marijuana.
According to Habersham County deputies Bestpitch abused her toddler by putting a dog collar around his neck and forcing him to smoke marijuana.
Bestpitch was charged with reckless conduct in connection to those allegations on February 6th. She posted a $1,300 bond and was released.
However, authorities were not done with Bestpitch and obtained a search warrant for her phone. During a search of Bestpitch's phone, deputies found images of her toddler being hog-tied with belts and yarn. They also found a video of the small child being pulled around by a dog leash around his neck by Bestpitch. They say that it was obvious the child's breathing was being constricted during the video! That is heartbreaking. All of this is heartbreaking.
These newly found videos and images led to additional charges being filed against Brooke Bestpitch. She was arrested on Friday, April 11th and charged with first-degree child cruelty.
Brooke Bestpitch was booked into Hall County Jail before posting a $11,200 bond on Saturday and released.
We will be updating this case.
