Big Tech ramps up living room rivalry as Instagram launches Reels app for TVs  The battle for the future of television is intensifying, and Meta is making its move. The company announced the launch of an Instagram Reels app for connected TVs, starting with Amazon Fire TV devices. The app aims to bring Reels directly to the living room, allowing users to watch short-form videos on a larger screen alongside friends and family. Tessa Lyons, Instagram’s VP of product, explained that research showed people were already mirroring their phones to TVs to view Reels, signaling a demand for a dedicated TV experience.  I can’t defect in secret – Malami denies dumping APC, defecting to SDP


Former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, has dismissed rumours of dumping the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the Social Democratic Party, SDP.

Malami assured that he’s still a member of the APC, stressing that he can’t defect to the SDP in secret.

In a statement signed by his Media Aide, Mohammed Bello Doka, the former AGF said he is, however, consulting with other platforms.

The statement by Doka reads partly: “Malami is a prominent figure in Nigeria, therefore, cannot defect to any party in secret, he is still in APC but in a broad consultations with different platforms. Until the consultations are over, it is premature to talk about defection or declaration of interest.”

The statement also said Malami remains in active politics and would make his position known when the time wast ripe.

‘’Malami has right to belong to any political party and to contest any position in Kebbi State,’’ Doka added.
