 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  Kaduna Tragedy: Child Killed, Seven Injured in Alleged Dane Gun Mishap


A suspected explosion in the Abakpa area of Kaduna North on Tuesday has been confirmed by police as a tragic discharge of a locally made firearm, not a bomb blast.


The incident claimed the life of 12-year-old Abubakar Muhammed and left seven others injured. Initial reports suggested two children were killed, but police clarified the situation after an on-site investigation by security officials, including the anti-bomb squad.


Kaduna Police Command says further inquiries are ongoing, while condoling with the bereaved and urging stricter control of homemade firearms.
