 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  'Major Plot' Foiled in Burkina Faso, Targeting Ibrahim Traoré


The failed coup attempt involved several military personnel and former members of the armed forces, Security Minister Mahamadou Sana announced on television, Sputnik reported.


Intelligence services intercepted communications between a Burkinabe soldier and armed group leaders, revealing the locations of Burkinabe troops and details of military operations, Sana said.


The action was initially planned for April 16 against the presidency of Burkina Faso, the minister said. It was to coincide with several attacks carried out by armed groups.
