 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  Man in court for alleged defilement of 19-month-old baby


The Lagos State Government on Tuesday arraigned a man, Peter Oshomah, before an Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court, for allegedly defiling a 19-month-old baby (name withheld).


Oshomah was arraigned on a charge of defilement.


He pleaded not guilty to the charge.


The state counsel, Miss Inumidun Solarin, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence on Feb. 5, 2024 at 5.25 p.m. at No. 8, DB Str., Shagari Estate in Ipaja, Lagos.


Solarin alleged the defendant defiled the minor by having unlawful sexual intercourse with her.


According to her, the alleged offence contravene Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.


Justice Rahman Oshodi, remanded the defendant at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.


Oshodi adjourned the case until July 1 for commencement of trial.
