Nkpor LandLord Association Cries Out To Idemili North Mayor Over Dilapidated Road

By Chiedu Uche Okoye/Amaka Iloanya

The Nkpor Unity Landlord Association at Umusiome-Nkpor has cried out to the Idemili North LGA chairman, Mr. Stanley Nkwoka, for help regarding the Udo trunk road, which is an important artery that links Nkpor to neighbouring towns.

The trunk road, which bisects Ogbe-etiti, Umusiome-Nkpor, is plied by drivers, who do make detour during rush hours, when the major roads are congested with crawling traffic.

But sadly, now, the road, which is an important link road, is in a state of disrepair. It is impassable, too.

Due to the deplorable state of the road, which makes it not motorable, residents of the area park their vehicles outside their residential area and trek to their houses and they are afraid that the condition of the road would worsen when the rainy season sets in, thereby compounding their plight.

The legal adviser of the Landlord Association, Barr. Ikem Offofile, said that the road has economic importance for Anambra State because it is plied by commercial bus drivers for the conveyance of people and goods to markets.

So he begged the Idemili North Mayor, Mr. Stanley Nkwoka, to come to their aid and repair the road while applauding him for his good work, so far.

And the secretary of the Landlord group, Celestine Ebelechukwu Maduekwe, expressed the fear that if the road was not repaired, urgently, its condition would deteriorate further.

He said that the daily movement of more than five thousand people who inhabit the area is hampered by the bad state of the road.

He urged Mr. Nkwoka to convey their cries for help to Gov. Chukwuma Soludo while stating that the people of Ogbe-etiti, Umusiome-Nkpor are majorly All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) faithful, who exercise their franchise, without fail, during each periodic election.

More so, the Public Relations Officer of the Landlord Association, Nathaniel Nnabue, who described the Ogbe-etiti, Umusiome-Nkpor as an APGA stronghold, said that they had been pooling their resources to do palliative work on the bad road.

He begged the Idemili North LGA Chairman, Mr. Nkwoka, to hearken to their cry and fix the road as it is an important thoroughfare that helps in the facilitation of commercial activities in Anambra state.
