 TROOPS OF OPERATION WHIRL STROKE ARREST HIGH PROFILE CRIMINAL IN BENUE COMMUNITY Troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE arrested a high-profile suspected criminal during an intelligence-driven operation in Agasha Village of Guma Local Government Area, Benue State, following a report of an attack on a local resident. The operation was launched on 13 March 2026 after security agencies received credible information regarding an attack on Mr Shaapera Seeta Michael in Agasha Village. Acting swiftly on the report, troops of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Intervention Battalion XI deployed under Operation WHIRL STROKE mobilised immediately to the affected area to track down the suspect responsible for the assault. Upon arrival, the troops cordoned the area to prevent the suspect from escaping while conducting a targeted search operation aimed at identifying and apprehending the alleged attacker.  North-Central APC Names Akume as Leader, Targets 6 Million Votes for Tinubu in 2027


The North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has officially adopted Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), as the party’s leader in the zone.


The decision was made during a stakeholders' meeting in Abuja on Thursday, with Forum Chairman Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga emphasizing Akume’s seniority as the highest-ranking APC member in the region.


The Forum commended Akume for fostering unity within the party and reaffirmed its commitment to securing six million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election.


It also urged Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia to recognize Akume’s leadership and work towards resolving internal party disputes for a stronger APC presence in the region.
