 IGP DISU PAYS OPERATIONAL VISIT TO  AKWA IBOM, PRESIDES OVER PASSING-OUT CEREMONY OF 1,068 RETRAINED CONSTABLES The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, today, 30th April 2026, undertook an official visit to Akwa Ibom State, where he paid a courtesy call on the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, ahead of the passing-out ceremony of retrained Police Constables in Uyo.  NSCDC Arrests 45-Year-Old for Railway Vandalism in Bauchi, Recovers Stolen Tracks

The Bauchi State Command of the NSCDC has arrested a 45-year-old man, Usman Jungudo, for railway vandalism and recovered stolen railway materials worth millions.


Commandant Oloyede Nelson Oyerinde said the arrest followed intelligence from the DSS, leading to the recovery of a Peugeot J5 van loaded with vandalized components, including 53 sleepers, 14 fish plates, and 20 bags of charcoal.


The suspect reportedly confessed to dismantling and selling the parts. Oyerinde vowed zero tolerance for vandalism and promised full prosecution. Investigations are ongoing.
