The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Official Statement from the Familá»· of Bolaji Olarewaju It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bolaji Olarewaju, affectionately known as "Big B, a cherished father, husband, brother, and an esteemed figure in both the church community, an ordained Pastor in the RCCG and a giant in the music industry and our community. Bolaji left us on Easter Saturday, 19th April 2025, after a brief illness.


His departure leaves a void in our hearts that cannot be filled.


Bolaji's life was a testament to his passion for music, his unwavering faith, and his dedication to uplifting those around him. His legacy is not only in the melodies he created but in the lives he touched and the unquantifiable joy he spread. We take solace in knowing that his absence with us is his presence with the Lord, and the indelible mark he left on all who had the privilege of knowing him will not be erased. As we navigate through this time of loss, we kindly request privacy to mourn as a family. We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support we have received and ask that you continue to keep us in your prayers.



Details regarding the obsequies will be shared in due course as we come together to celebrate Bolaji's remarkable life and legacy. Thank you for respecting our wishes during this incredibly difficult time.

Nigerian Pastor, Gospel Musician Big Bolaji Slumps On Stage, Dies


Popular singer and pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Bolaji Adedotun Olanrewaju, known to many as Big Bolaji, has died.


He passed away on Easter Saturday, April 19, 2025, after a short illness.


The singer is said to have slumped at an event where he was performing last night, April 18.


Sadly, he passed away today.


His family confirmed the sad news in a statement, describing him as a loving husband, father, and brother who made lasting contributions to gospel music and the church community.


Big Bolaji was known for his powerful voice, energetic performances, and the joy he spread through his songs.


He had a strong influence in the gospel music scene, touching lives with his messages of faith and hope.


His songs were not only played in churches but also found their way into the hearts of many outside the religious circle.


He was celebrated for his ability to connect with people through worship.


As a pastor, he was active in church activities, often combining music and ministry in his service to God.


His life reflected his deep love for music, his belief in service, and his desire to inspire others.


Those who knew him personally or through his music say his absence will be deeply felt.


The family has asked for privacy during this time and said that details about his funeral will be shared later.
