 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. TERRORISTS ABDUCT PASSENGERS IN TWO COMMERCIAL VEHICLES HEADING TO MAKURDI THROUGH ADOKA - NAKA ROAD.(PHOTOS)..


 SECURITY ALERT: FULANI TERRORISTS ABDUCT PASSENGERS IN TWO COMMERCIAL VEHICLES HEADING TO MAKURDI THROUGH ADOKA - NAKA  ROAD.


The Fulani Terrorists of Nigeria have this morning, ambushed and abducted over 27 passengers who where following through Adoka-Naka Makurdi road. This happens at FULANI CHECK POINT in Jor Community, of Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue state.


According to the released victims, an aged man in purple dress and a woman with the little baby, believed to be natives of Kogi State said, the Fulani terrorists, armed with sophisticated weapons ambushed their vehicles (a Hummer Bus and the Volkswagen Salon attached in pictures) where they ordered all passengers into the bush, but on trekking a certain distance, they terrorists decided to release both the old Man and the woman with a little baby on the basis of their ages, that they may not make the journey.


The victims are currently stranded in Naka, as they arrived the NURTW motor park to share their traumatizing experiences with the Displaced People of Gwer West.
