 TEAM LAGOS EMERGES TOP AT 23RD NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL SOUTH WEST ELIMINATION Lagos State athletes proved their dominance in the South West by edging out regional competitors and emerging top in the five team events contested at the elimination series qualifier for the 23rd National Sports Festival later this year in Enugu. The elimination series featured team events in volleyball, basketball, football, beach volleyball, and cricket in male and female categories. While the team clinched only the female football ticket by topping their group, they showed dominance in three other sports by winning both the male and female tickets. Team Lagos took first position in the volleyball male and female categories. The male team defeated their counterparts from Ondo in the finals by 25-18, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-20, while the female team defeated Team Oyo by 25-18, 22-25, 28-26, 16-25, and 15-8.  The grand finale of Indian Idol 15 has crowned its winner — Manasi Ghosh

 The singing reality show, hosted by Aditya Narayan, concluded its highly competitive season with a spectacular finale, where Manasi emerged as the winner, while Shubhajit Chakraborty was declared the first runner-up. Sneha Shankar also made it to the top three.


Judged by musical heavyweights Vishal Dadlani, Shreya Ghoshal, and Badshah, the season was packed with powerful performances, emotional moments, and musical magic. Sony TV’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle announced the winner, writing, “After weeks of music, magic, and moments — Manasi didn’t just win a title, she won a million hearts.”


Reacting to her win, an emotional Manasi said, “Abhi bhi mere ko hit nahi kiya hai ki maine yeh trophy jeeta hai. I’m blessed and grateful to get so much love from everyone. There’s a lot going on in my head. I am really overwhelmed. Thank you so much.”


Nicknamed the “Idol ki crazy girl,” Manasi won over both the judges and viewers with her energetic and soulful performances throughout the season. Along with the coveted trophy, she also took home a brand-new car and a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh.
