Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has warned residents against recruiting criminals from outside the state to carry out kidnappings and other violent crimes, describing the trend as a major setback to ongoing efforts to improve security. The governor issued the warning on Wednesday while speaking at the 2026 Ministers’ Conference organised by the Edo State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Benin City. Okpebholo expressed concern over the security situation in the state, alleging that some individuals were deliberately exaggerating incidents of crime and spreading false information on social media to discredit his administration. According to him, investigations by security agencies have uncovered the involvement of local collaborators who allegedly recruit armed gangs from outside Edo State to perpetrate kidnappings and other criminal activities. “Do you know one painful thing?  The grand finale of Indian Idol 15 has crowned its winner — Manasi Ghosh

 The singing reality show, hosted by Aditya Narayan, concluded its highly competitive season with a spectacular finale, where Manasi emerged as the winner, while Shubhajit Chakraborty was declared the first runner-up. Sneha Shankar also made it to the top three.


Judged by musical heavyweights Vishal Dadlani, Shreya Ghoshal, and Badshah, the season was packed with powerful performances, emotional moments, and musical magic. Sony TV’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle announced the winner, writing, “After weeks of music, magic, and moments — Manasi didn’t just win a title, she won a million hearts.”


Reacting to her win, an emotional Manasi said, “Abhi bhi mere ko hit nahi kiya hai ki maine yeh trophy jeeta hai. I’m blessed and grateful to get so much love from everyone. There’s a lot going on in my head. I am really overwhelmed. Thank you so much.”


Nicknamed the “Idol ki crazy girl,” Manasi won over both the judges and viewers with her energetic and soulful performances throughout the season. Along with the coveted trophy, she also took home a brand-new car and a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh.
