 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  Catholic Priest Kidnapped In Kauru, Kaduna, Regains Freedom


A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Ibrahim Amos, who was abducted Thursday afternoon at Kurmin Risga, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has regained his freedom.


 According to Daily Trust, Fr. Amos, who served at St. Gerald Quasi Parish, was said to have returned home unharmed on Friday at about 2:00pm.


The announcement of his release was contained in a statement signed by Rev. Fr. Dr. Jacob Shanet, who expressed gratitude to God and thanked members of the public for their prayers and support throughout the difficult period.


Fr. Shanet also commended the efforts of the local vigilante group, the police, and the Department of State Services (DSS) for their role during the period of uncertainty.
