 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  3-Day Conference For Key Local Government Functionaries  Kicks Off In Anambra

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has tasked local government functionaries to aim at achieving sustainable and progressive conduct that will engender credible service delivery.


The governor made the call while declaring open  a 3-day conference for local government selected staff tagged,"General Orientation And Management Programme Of Key Functionaries Of The Local Government System In Anambra State",at the International Convention Centre, Awka.


According to the governor, Mayors, Deputy Mayors and Councilors in the local government system should make every moment of their career count in the discharge of their duties,adding that they should be themselves in their disposition.


Governor Soludo challenged them to be unassuming in their carriage and to make themselves available to the people they serve.


In a remark,the Commissioner for Local Government,Town Union and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Collins Nwabunwanne commended the governor for facilitating the conference and expecting the participants to utilize the knowledge they will garner at the conference to improve their careers,and enhance productivity in their working places.


A  one time Chairman of Idemili North LGA, Chief Chike Obuekwe concurred with the governor in urging the staff in the local government system to aim at giving their overall best in the discharge of their duties.


A resource person and one time head of local government administration for Aguata LGA, Chief Richard Obi further enjoined local government functionaries to work according to their job schedule to enhance productivity in the third tier of government.


In another message,the Mayor of Idemili North LGA,  Chief Stanley Nkwoka commended Governor Soludo for facilitating the conference and urged all local government functionaries to be alive to their responsibilities to make the system work.


Other key local government functionaries namely Honourable Kenneth Maduagwu Councillor representing Okija ward 5,Ihiala LGA,and Hon.Okwudili Agbodike, Councillor representing Ogboro ward in Ihiala LGA paid glowing tribute to Governor Soludo for making the local government tier of government progressive.


The duo expect that the electorate in the state will reciprocate the governor's laudable agenda for the state by re electing him for a second term in office.


The occasion was graced by the state Chairman Local Government Service Commission, Vin Ezeaka (Esq),and other distinguished personalities.
