 TROOPS APPREHEND SUSPECTED TERRORIST COLLABORATORS, FAMILY OF ISWAP FINANCE CHIEF SURRENDERS, RECOVER LOGISTICS ITEMS Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have continued to sustain pressure on  terrorists through series of intelligence-led operations that resulted in the arrest of suspected terrorist collaborators, the surrender of the family members of a senior ISWAP commander, and the recovery of terrorist logistics items. In one of the operations conducted on 27 July 2026, troops of 5 Brigade arrested six ISWAP collaborators in Damasak, Borno State. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were allegedly generating funds for the terrorist group through the procurement and sale of cattle at designated markets in Gubio, Damasak and Ajuwango. Items recovered from the suspects included one Volkswagen Golf vehicle, vehicle keys, four mobile phones of different brands, cow meat and the sum of ₦317,950.00. The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon.Somtochukwu Udeze has described the Traditional Ruler of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe as one of the highly revered and erudite traditional rulers in Nigeria.


In his goodwill message to Igwe Achebe as he marks his 84th birthday, Rt.Hon.Udeze noted that Igwe Achebe's training, candour, cognitive experience in public sector as well as deep knowledge of Igbo cultural heritage has distinguished him among his contemporaries, and also provided enough guide to his traditional affairs.


The Speaker who extolled Igwe Achebe's contributions to the growth and development of the traditional institutions in the state and South-east Zone, enjoined other traditional rulers in Igbo land to emulate his passion and zeal for the advancement of the Igbo cultural heritage and his efforts to ensure a secure and unbiased Igbo nation.


While wishing Igwe Achebe more fruitful years on the throne and longevity, Rt Hon.Udeze called on Ndi Onitsha and beyond to give maximum support to Igwe Achebe at all times to enable him continue to pilot the traditional affairs of Onitsha kingdom and other engagements effectively.
