  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous. BudgIT Uncovers N6.93tn Worth of Inserted Projects in 2025 Budget


BudgIT has revealed that the National Assembly inserted 11,122 projects worth N6.93 trillion into the 2025 federal budget, raising concerns over fiscal abuse and political manipulation. The civic tech group said many of the projects lack justification and divert funds from national priorities.


Key flagged insertions include 238 projects above N5 billion, 1,477 streetlight projects costing N393.29 billion, and N6.74 billion for traditional ruler "empowerment." BudgIT urged President Tinubu to reform the budget process and align spending with the national development plan.
