Dangote Refinery Slashes Petrol Prices to N875-N905 Per Litre Nationwide

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a new reduction in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol), with prices now ranging from N875 to N905 per litre across Nigeria, depending on the region. The price cut, reflecting a N15 reduction per litre, was shared on the refinery’s official social media handle on Thursday and applies to all partner retail outlets, including MRS, Ardova, Heyden, Optima Energy, Techno Oil, and Hyde Energy.

Under the revised pricing, Lagos residents will pay N875 per litre, the South-West N885, the North-West and Central regions N895, and the North-East and South-South/South-East N905. Previously, petrol retailed at N890 in Lagos and N920 in the North-East and South-South. The refinery urged consumers to purchase fuel exclusively from its partner outlets and report non-compliance via its hotline: +234 707 470 2099 or +234 707 470 2100. “Our quality petrol and diesel are refined for better engine performance and are environmentally friendly,” the company stated.

The price reduction follows the reintroduction of a refund benefit policy for customers earlier this week and comes amid reports of independent oil marketers resuming large-scale petrol imports. Data from the Tanker Position Report, obtained by MAGIC FM from Blue Sea Maritime, revealed that 370,000 metric tonnes of petrol—equivalent to over 496.17 million litres—were discharged at various depots between May 11 and 20, 2025.

On Monday, the Lekki-based refinery attributed its ability to lower petrol prices to the naira-for-crude deal, which has reduced production costs. In a statement signed by Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer Anthony Chiejina, Dangote Refinery reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining affordable and stable fuel prices despite global crude oil price fluctuations. “This decision reflects our unwavering commitment to supporting the Nigerian economy and alleviating the burden on consumers,” the statement read.
