The Ministry of Justice, in collaboration with the Lagos State Judiciary, played a pivotal role in hosting and supporting the External Court Session and Sensitization Outreach of the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice held in Lagos from 5th to 16th in May 2025.
The Chief Justice of Nigeria Hon. Justice Kudirat Kekere Ekun, the Chief Judge of Lagos State Jon. Justice Kazeem Alogba and the Governor of Lagos State Mr. Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu were physically present at the opening ceremony.
The programme, which marked a milestone in public legal education and sub-regional judicial engagement, was aimed at deepening the understanding of the role and jurisdiction of the ECOWAS Court among Nigerians and other West African citizens. It also enhanced citizens’ awareness of their rights under the ECOWAS legal framework.
