 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. EXTERNAL AFFAIRS MINISTER S. JAISHANKAR CONVEYED A STRONG MESSAGE TO THE UNITED STATES REGARDING INDIA’S STANCE AMID THE ONGOING CROSS-BORDER TENSIONS WITH PAKISTAN.(PHOTO).

 External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar conveyed a strong message to the United States regarding India’s stance amid the ongoing cross-border tensions with Pakistan.

 In a phone call with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Jaishankar emphasized that India will firmly counter any attempts at escalation by Pakistan, reiterating the country’s right to defend itself against hostile actions.


The conversation took place in the backdrop of repeated drone and missile attacks on Indian border states, which have followed India’s precision strikes under Operation Sindoor. Jaishankar stressed that India’s military actions have been targeted, proportionate, and specifically aimed at terrorist infrastructure within Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.


He assured the US that while India remains committed to regional stability, it will not hesitate to respond with strength to any further provocation. Jaishankar also called for international cooperation in holding state sponsors of terrorism accountable, urging Washington to recognize the pattern of aggression from across the border.


The US, while expressing concern over the rising tensions, has urged both sides to de-escalate and resolve issues through diplomatic dialogue. However, India’s message remained clear—national security and civilian protection will not be compromised.
