A MANHUNT IS UNDERWAY FOR MAN WHO SHOT A GRANITE CITY POLICE OFFICER MULTIPLE TIMES.(PHOTO).

  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous. The 2025 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) which took place at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, aims to recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements in the African film and television industry.

Some notable winners include Lateef Adedimeji’s “Lisabi: The Uprising,” which won Best Indigenous Language (West Africa).

Femi Adebayo and Chioma Chukwuka have also been recognised for their outstanding performances in “Seven Doors,” taking home the Best Lead Actor and Best Lead Actress awards, respectively. The event promises to be a spectacular celebration of African cinematic excellence.
