 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  House Deputy Speaker Lauds Nigerian Workers, Backs Tinubu’s Wage Reforms


The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, has praised Nigerian workers for their resilience and critical contributions to national development. In a statement marking the 2025 International Workers’ Day, Kalu commended the workforce for their steadfast role in driving Nigeria’s progress.


Highlighting the federal government’s commitment to improving workers’ welfare, Kalu noted the National Assembly’s prompt approval of an increased minimum wage under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. He described the move as a significant step toward enhancing the livelihoods of civil servants.


Kalu called for patience and support from Nigerians, stressing that the administration’s economic reforms are designed to deliver lasting benefits. He urged workers to unite with the government in addressing national challenges, emphasizing the power of collective effort.
