Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has praised Alhaji Aliko Dangote and the Aliko Dangote Foundation for their steadfast efforts in tackling hunger and poverty in Nigeria.
The commendation was made during the official distribution of 35,000 bags of 10kg rice donated by the Foundation to all 23 local government areas of the state.
Representing the Governor at the event, Chief of Staff Alhaji Sani Liman Kila announced that each LGA would receive 1,522 bags.
Governor Sani noted that the Dangote Foundation’s social interventions are both impactful and strategically aligned with the state government's social investment policies.
“Since taking office, our administration has prioritized the delivery of basic services, especially in health, education, and social protection,” he said. “We have championed inclusive economic growth, financial inclusion, and humanitarian assistance, particularly for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), while strengthening peace and security.”
He reaffirmed the state’s commitment to collaborating with philanthropic organizations like the Aliko Dangote Foundation to enhance the welfare of its most vulnerable residents.
Also speaking at the event, the Foundation’s representative, Alhaji Sadiq Ahmed, highlighted that the annual National Food Intervention Project aims to reach over one million underprivileged Nigerians across all 774 local government areas.
He described the initiative as a reflection of the Foundation’s values of compassion, solidarity, and shared responsibility, particularly in response to the prevailing economic challenges.
“This intervention is part of our ongoing commitment to support communities nationwide,” Alhaji Sadiq stated.
