 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Makinde, Saraki, Others in Closed Door Meeting after FCTA Seizes PDP HQ (Photos) | 


Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), including Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum, and former Senate President Bukola Saraki, are currently holding a closed-door meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) at the Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.


The meeting, which is part of the PDP’s National Caucus session, comes just hours after officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) sealed off the party’s national secretariat over unpaid ground rents.


Meanwhile, the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting, earlier scheduled to hold at the sealed secretariat, was relocated to Legacy House, the party’s presidential campaign office located in the Maitama District of the Federal Capital Territory.


The sealing of the PDP headquarters follows tension between the party and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike. Wike, a former PDP governor, had declared on Sunday that he would “fight for justice” within the party.


Prior to the commencement of the meeting, journalists were excused to allow for a private session.
