 Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway  The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation. Goronyo described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the state government’s commitment to protecting workers and contractors on the strategic highway corridor. He explained that the vehicles will be deployed exclusively to security operatives providing cover for construction teams along the section of the super highway passing through Kebbi State. MAN ELECTROCUTED TRYING TO STEAL TRANSFORMER PARTS IN OSUN.(PHOTO).


 Man electrocuted trying to steal transformer parts in Osun


A suspected vandal (name not given) has been electrocuted, while making attempt to steal components of a transformer at 500KVA substation in Ede town, Osun State.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Regional Communication and Branding Officer, Kikelomo Owoeye, on behalf of the Management of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc, Osun Region, obtained on Friday.

Owoeye further explained that the vandal had attacked the transformer located at Baba Abiye prayer mountain late on Wednesday.

But unfortunately, he got injured in the process and fell beside the transformer but was discovered seriously injured the following morning by a resident, who alerted others in the neighborhood.

The statement read in parts, “The suspected vandal was electrocuted during the act and was later discovered by a concerned resident the following morning.

“He was promptly taken to Alpha Hospital by the police while an accomplice was apprehended and taken into the police custody.”

Commenting further on the incident, IBEDC condemned the act, adding that, “Vandalism poses grave risks to lives, undermines public safety, and disrupts power supply to communities.

“We commend the vigilance and prompt action of the local residents and urge the public to remain alert.

“We encourage residents to report any suspicious activity or infractions, including energy theft, meter tampering, and vandalism, through the appropriate channels. Together, we can safeguard our infrastructure and ensure a more reliable electricity supply.”
