 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. MIKE SUMLER ' KOOL & THE GANG MEMBER PASSED AWAY AT THE AGE OF 71.(PHOTO).

 The music world has lost a true legend. Michael "Chicago Mike" Sumler, longtime member of Kool & The Gang, died at 71 following a car crash in Georgia's Cobb County over Memorial Day weekend. The beloved performer had just finished a concert at Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre as part of the "Evening of Funk" show before the tragic accident occurred just before midnight on Saturday, May 24. Known as the group's energetic "hype man," Michael joined Kool & The Gang in 1985 and brought his Chicago charm to the stage for nearly four decades. 


Colleagues remember him as "always jovial, always kind" and someone who "always wanted to see other people succeed." His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched with his music and kindness.
