CJN Bans Lawyers, Court Officials to Stop Using ‘Barrister’ as Official Title The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, has directed lawyers, court officials and other legal personnel to discontinue the use of “Barrister” as a prefix to their names in all official engagements at the Supreme Court. The directive was contained in a memorandum dated July 13, 2026, and signed by the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Kabir Akanbi. The circular, which was addressed to litigation staff, legal practitioners, court registrars and lawyers, stated that the directive took immediate effect and was aimed at upholding professional standards within the apex court.  ONGOING 2025 IMOKA FESTIVAL: ANAMBRA POLICE  INTENSIFIES SECURITY PATROL IN AWKA AND ENVIRONS


The ongoing 2025 *Imoka Festival* today 24th May 2025, witnessed strategic Police and other Security agencies' deployment as Operatives remain firm with intensified patrols/monitoring in Awka and environs. This is to ensure a hitch-free and peaceful celebrations. 


The Police remains vigilant and prepared to respond to any potential security threats, prioritizing the safety of festival attendees and the community.
