  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.  Senate President Akpabio Praises Nigerian Workers, Pledges Protection and Labour-Friendly Laws


Senate President Godswill Akpabio has lauded Nigerian workers for their productivity, diligence, and resilience in the face of socio-economic challenges, as the world marks May Day. In a statement issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio assured workers that under President Bola Tinubu’s administration and his leadership of the 10th National Assembly, no worker would face victimization for performing their duties or seeking their rights.


“Today, we celebrate the hard work and dedication of Nigerian workers,” Akpabio said. “Despite obvious difficulties, you remain the backbone of our economy. Your unwavering commitment to excellence and productivity is vital to our nation’s progress.” He commended workers for prioritizing national interest and recognized their critical role in driving economic growth.


Akpabio pledged that the 10th National Assembly would prioritize workers’ welfare, security, safety, and service conditions, promising to advance labour-friendly legislation and ensure workers’ rights are protected. “We will not shirk our responsibility to work with the Executive to address workers’ concerns and create opportunities for growth and prosperity,” he stated.


The Senate President expressed pride in Nigerian workers and reaffirmed his commitment to building a brighter future for them and the nation. “On behalf of my family, constituents, and the 10th National Assembly, I heartily rejoice with the workers and wish them a fruitful and peaceful celebration,” he concluded.
