Anambra State Braces for Traffic Disruptions as President Tinubu Set to Visit

The Anambra State Government has announced that President Bola Tinubu will visit the state on Thursday next week to commission a series of key infrastructure projects. The visit, however, is expected to cause temporary traffic disruptions in areas hosting the projects, prompting a call for public cooperation.

In a statement issued by the Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, the government outlined preparations for the high-profile visit. “In preparation for this high-powered visit, the government anticipates slight adjustments to traffic flow and commuter schedules,” the statement read. “We kindly urge Ndi Anambra to cooperate with security agencies and other relevant authorities in the build-up to this visit.”

The projects slated for commissioning include the new Anambra Government House, the Governor’s Lodge and Presidential Lodge, the Solution Fun City—an ultra-modern recreational facility—the Ekwulobia Flyover Bridge, and several strategic roads across the state. These initiatives highlight the state’s ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure and public amenities.

The government expressed enthusiasm for the President’s visit, stating, “We are excited to welcome Mr. President to Anambra State and assure him of a warm and hospitable reception.” The statement also appealed for public understanding, adding, “We appreciate your cooperation and support in ensuring a hitch-free and memorable visit by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Preparations are already underway, with parts of the state receiving aesthetic upgrades. Decorations have begun at project sites and key locations expected to be visited by President Tinubu, signaling the state’s readiness to host the nation’s leader.

Residents are advised to plan their travel routes and stay updated on traffic advisories to minimize inconvenience during the visit. The government has assured that measures are in place to ensure the event proceeds smoothly, with security agencies deployed to manage traffic and ensure public safety.
