8-year-old Lalia and 9-year-old Brylee were spending a fun day barbecuing and playing on the water with their 11-year-old cousin Jordan on Friday, June 20th. The girls were spending the day with their aunt and uncle while their mother, Kristine Robinson, was in the NICU with her newborn 'micro-preemie' baby.
This fun family outing quickly turned to tragedy while the three young girls were tubing. Reports on how the incident unfolded are unclear, but regardless of how it happened, the results were devastating. At some point, while tubing, the 3 girls crashed while in the tube. The accident claimed the life of 11-year-old Jordan and left 8-year-old Lalia severely injured.
Although details aren't readily available, Lalia's mother Kristine has stated that Jordan died as a hero, sacrificing herself for her younger cousins. She has said, "Jordan has always been the protector of all the kids. You couldn't tell her any different". She continued, "Jordan sacrificed her life, and she saved her cousin's life with her life."
9-year-old Brylee was able to escape the tragic accident with only a few bruises, however her emotional scars are sure to run deep with her cousin passing away in front of her and her little sister seriously injured.
Lalia has already undergone one surgery and has several more in the near future according to Kristine. Kristine is hoping she can have Lalia transfered to the same hospital her micro-preemie sibling is being treated at.
The incident is under investigation by The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

We hope Lalia has a full recovery and these sisters recover from this tragic incident.
Rest in peace, Jordan.
