 43 children among 79 civilians killed in paramilitary RSF drone attack in Sudan's South Kordofan At least 79 civilians, including 43 children, were killed and 38 others injured in a drone strike carried out by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in South Kordofan, Sudanese authorities said, TRT Afrika reported. In a statement, the South Kordofan state government said four women were among the victims in Thursday’s attack on the city of Kalogi in western Sudan. It said the drone fired four missiles into a kindergarten, a hospital and densely populated residential areas, describing the incident as a "heinous crime" committed by the RSF-allied Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N). Authorities had initially reported eight fatalities, including six children and a teacher, before the death toll climbed to 79. DELTA STATE POLICE COMMAND CO SUSTAINING THE FIGHT AGAINST CRIME AND CRIMINALITY AS OPERATIVES OF CP-SAT ARREST SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS, GUN RUNNERS AND RECOVERY OF ONE BARETTA PISTOL, TWO CUT-TO-SIZE GUNS, TWO ENGLISH SINGLE BARREL GUNS AND CARTRIDGES.


Acting on credible intelligence carried out on the activities of cultists around Mosogar and its environs, on 11/06/2025, at about 0345hrs, Operatives of CP - Special Assignment Team ( CP - SAT ) led by ASP Julius Robinson stormed the residence of one Koko Josh ‘’m", aged 29 years, a native of Otor-Iyede Community in Isoko North LGA, Delta State, resident of Adams Street Area Mosoghar and one Asomugha Clinton m", 27 years, a native of Mbaisse Community in Ezinetthe LGA, Imo State. During the preliminary investigation, a search warrant was executed in his premises during which a black bag containing a Fabricated Baretta Pistol loaded with two(2) rounds of live ammunition, two (2) locally made guns, eight rounds (8) of live cartridges were recovered also recovered are multiple phones laptop and some fetish substances.   Further investigation led to the arrest of Anthony Kelvin m" 26 yrs, a native of Orhoakpor Community in Ethiope East LGA, Delta State and Gift Amotsuka m" 25 yrs, a native of Jakpa Community in Warri North LGA, Delta State, both residents at Adam Street Mosoghar. They are all suspected to be members of the Aiye confraternity. Suspects are in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.

In another development, Operatives of the CP Special assignment team at about 1600hrs of 13/6/2025 embarked on a sting operation in a sting operation at  Okpanam Area of Asaba and effected the arrest of one Ekene Chroma, f’  36yrs a native of Issele-Uku in Aniocha North LGA of Delta State, and one  Okafor Jonathan m’ 18yrs a native of Onicha-Ugbo in Aniocha North LGA of Delta State, both resident at Okpanam. Upon search, two(2) English Single Barrell and one hundred and ten ( 110) live cartridges were recovered. Preliminary investigations revealed that they were suspected of being involved in the business of gun running. Suspects and exhibits are in custody while the investigation is ongoing.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, extends his deepest appreciation to members of the public who have been assisting the Police by way of providing this useful information that operatives of the command work with to record these numerous achievements. The CP stated that it would not have been made possible without the support from members of the Public, and he calls for other well-meaning residents in the state to join the police in this fight to achieve a safer Delta State.
