Yemen fighting pushes nearly 3,000 to Djibouti in less than a week: UN    Nearly 3,000 people have fled Yemen for Djibouti in less than a week as escalating violence drives growing displacement within the country and across its borders, the UN refugee agency said Friday. “Refugees continue to arrive by boat through Obock, Khor Angar, Moulhoule and Godoria after difficult journeys in small vessels,” UNHCR representative in Djibouti Sandrine Desamours told reporters in Geneva, Anadolu Agency reported. More than half of those crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are women and children, while some families have been displaced for a second time after previously fleeing Yemen during the 2015 crisis and later returning. UNHCR is preparing for at least 10,000 new arrivals but warned that capacity is rapidly diminishing.  ‎Edo State Government To Return 36 Schools To Catholic Church

‎The Edo State Government has announced plans to return 36 primary and secondary schools to the Catholic Church, decades after the schools were forcefully taken over by the civil government in the 1970s.

‎

‎The decision was made following a meeting between Governor Okpebholo and Bishop Gabriel G. Dunia of the Catholic Diocese of Auchi.

‎

‎The schools slated for return include those formerly owned by the Catholic Archdiocese of Benin City and the Catholic Diocese of Uromi.Okpebholo assured that a committee will be set up to identify all schools for handover.

‎

‎According to the statement, the decision to return some schools to the missionary aimed to address long-standing grievances and potentially enhance educational standards through faith-based initiatives across Edo State.
