Yemen fighting pushes nearly 3,000 to Djibouti in less than a week: UN    Nearly 3,000 people have fled Yemen for Djibouti in less than a week as escalating violence drives growing displacement within the country and across its borders, the UN refugee agency said Friday. “Refugees continue to arrive by boat through Obock, Khor Angar, Moulhoule and Godoria after difficult journeys in small vessels,” UNHCR representative in Djibouti Sandrine Desamours told reporters in Geneva, Anadolu Agency reported. More than half of those crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are women and children, while some families have been displaced for a second time after previously fleeing Yemen during the 2015 crisis and later returning. UNHCR is preparing for at least 10,000 new arrivals but warned that capacity is rapidly diminishing.  FIFA World Club: Tems to perform at opening ceremony


Nigerian singer Tems will perform at the first-ever halftime show of a FIFA Club World Cup final. The event will take place on July 13, 2025, at MetLife Stadium in New York.Nigeria: Nigerian fashion

Tems will share the stage with Colombian star J Balvin and American pop singer Doja Cat. The show will be broadcast live and free on DAZN.com so fans around the world can watch.

Tems said she’s excited to be part of this global moment. “We’ll bring the world together to celebrate football and the power of music,” she said. “It’s also a chance to help children through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.”

This special performance is part of a project by FIFA and Global Citizen to raise $100 million. The goal is to give more children access to quality education and football.

Tems called the event a celebration of both football and unity through music.
