 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and his counterpart from Kwara State, Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq presented medals to the winners of the 2025 President Federation Cup, Kwara United at the Mobolaji Johnson Sports Arena,Onikan, Lagos.


The Harmony boys defeated Abakaliki FC 4-3 via penalty shoot-out following a stalemate after the 90th minute regulation time.


Present at the country’s oldest championship are the Director General, Lagos State Sports Commission, Lekan Fatodu; Chairman, Lagos State Football Association, Hajji Gaffar  Liameed.


Others are the Chairman National Sports Commission, Sheu Dikko; Director General,NSC , Hon. Bukola Olopade; Senior Special Assistant to President on Grassroots Sports Development, Anthony Adeyinka Adeboye and Director General, National Institute for Sports,Comrade Philip Shaibu, Directors from the Lagos State  Sports Commission, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Sports and other sports stakeholders.
